In Memoriam

On March 31st, 1995, the life of singer Selena Quintanilla-Pérez was tragically cut short when she was brutally murdered by a crazed business associate.
Fourteen years later, she still remains the Queen of Tejano music.
Her memory lives on!
Check out a lovely Selena tribute (above).

A Sweet Surprise

I came home from work, to find this waiting for me.
Neal bought it for me, cause he knows how I love Metallica and Guitar Hero, but the both together...OUTRAGEOUS!!! I cant wait to fire it up and get my Enter Sandman on!
Wasn't that thoughtful?!

Movie Review

Title movie of the week:

I went to see this movie the weekend it came out, but I didn't have the time to write my review with all the craziness surrounding last week. So, on that note...

I Love You, Man is one of the funnier movies I've seen in a very long time. Would you expect anything less from director John Hamburg who directed Meet the Fockers and Zoolander?! Neal and I laughed so hard we cried!! Who loves Superbad? If you said, I DO, then your going to heart this movie to death. It's so funny stupid it works. Paul Rudd plays this character (Peter) that asks his girlfriend to marry him and then figures out he has no guy friends to be in his wedding. He then goes on what his gay brother calls "Man Dates", meets several men that are weird, gay, and just plain ridiculous. Until he meets Jason Segels character (Sydney) at an open house Peter is hosting, and from there these two guys are inseparable. This movie is HILARIOUS, and if you're not busy and wanna see a good movie I recommend this one to the highest power.

I give this movie 5 stars!

Hail NO!! Update...

Neal took my car in to get the estimate on the damage caused by the storm last week, and I'm sad to announce that my car has to be totaled! :(

Of course this is what Neal told me when he called me after he got done at the collision place. It's not true, but the damage to my car is a whopping $5000 worth!! I get a new hood, roof, trunk, and a new drivers side door frame. Along with a back left window and new windshield. So basically I'll have a new car. They didn't end up totaling it cause they said my '03 Acura is worth $10,000 traded in. WHAT?! That's right you read that right. I was shocked, but then again I only have 60,000 miles on her...so I can see that.

*I'll be adding addition pictures later tonight so be sure to check back.

Here are those pictures:
The spider cracks on my windshield.
Here's a better view of my dented in door frame, and u can see part of the damage to my roof.
Of course here's my side window, and trust me the inside is worse, and all crackled. Blind spot, enough said!!
My roof.
Hopefully we can get my car into the shop soon, but with so many people with the same type damage it might just be weeks. I sure hope not, but we'll see.

Michelle's Baby Shower 3/28/09

Yesterday was Michelle's baby shower, and it turned out so beautifully. The mommy-to-be looked amazing and all the guests enjoyed themselves...which is always a plus. I believe several people, and I'll quote, said "this was the BEST baby shower I've ever been to!" Of course this is Michelle's baby shower we're talking about, and she wasn't about to throw any ol' rinky dinky baby shower. Lets get to the pictures...

Here's Michelle getting ready to go.

The yummy cake. It was so good!

Some of the guest.

Gifts...LOTS of gifts!

Mommy and Aunt Kim

Here are some of the mommies closest friends.

Gift time...

Here's just some of the goodies I ended up organizing for her. That's what aunts do...or at least that's what this aunt does. HA! I wanted her to kick her feet up and relax, and not have to worry about anything.

While I was organizing I thought I would put a little bath time basket together with a couple of things she got at the shower. It turned out pretty good for that being the first time ever doing that. Also I framed a beautiful poem her two girlfriends wrote for her with a picture of the gift they got her that didn't arrive in time for the party. It was so sweet!

Well there you have it. A short version a long, fun filled day.

Just A Little Off The Top

So London was Way WAy WAY past do for a new Do! Her fur was all matted because the silly girl thinks her brush is a game and jumps around when I try and brush her. So of course I give up on the hopeless cause that is my dog. Neal took the little stinker to the groomer and low and behold I come home to a rodent! My precious baby has been turned into a Skinny, poodle looking, ankle biter. I'm sad and shes sad. She wont even look at herself in the mirror...but can you blame her?! It's really quite sad, and to make it worse Neal keeps calling her Gremlin. Poor poor poo poos.

Hail NO!!

Today was a sad sad day in Austin TX (RIATA). A nice storm rolled its happy butt through our city, and made quit the impact. 6pm on the dot (closing time in most places) and it starts getting dark and ugly outside. *BOOM* *SMACK* *CRASH*, hail the size of dimes started to fall. No big deal... no harm shall come from tinny hail. Right?! WRONG! Within 1 minutes time the tiny dime size hail turned into quarter, then golf ball, and then tennis/baseball size monsters banging up everything in its path. Needless to say branches and leaves lost their lives, and cars lost their windows. Not a pretty sight.

8 months...WoW!!

Sorry, I haven't been on here in a while, but I've been so busy, and blogging wasn't on my top to do list, but I'm back and ready to spread the word. Word?! I don't know, just thought it might sound good. Ha! Well lets update you on all that's going on in the Collins world.

Lets start with August...umm well...nothing happened in August so lets move on! September was a beautiful month filled with beautiful love! Cheesy I know, but Awww! Michelle, my beautiful sister, tied the knot on September 26th. It was a gorgeous ceremony, gorgeous bride and groom, and gorgeous ME! LOL!

October was filled with shock and surprise. My sisters 30th birthday was on the 13th, and much to her surprise and ours....she announced she's having a baby! Eeeek, FINALLY I'm going to be an aunt....Yippy!!! Also our little London Lamb turned 1 years old. Shes growing up so so fast! November...Thanksgiving! I went home to spend time with my family, and Neal had to work so he couldn't come along for the ride. Yes, we spent the holiday apart, but that's what happens when the hubs has to work and you don't. December was fun and warm. Gotta love Texas weather! Christmas was wonderful but chaotic. Christmas eve was spent at Grandma Collins house, and then Neal and I did our Christmas when we got back to the house. We then got up at 6am to head to the Collins house for gift opening and then drive 3 hours to Fort Worth for lunch and Christmas with my family. Crazy I know! It has to be done though, and we wouldn't change it for anything. We love our families and this works for everyone. January was just like any other month...kinda boring. It's too cold to go and do much, but when it is warm we're out enjoying the day. February brings us Love and Hearts; candy hearts! Valentines day may be a made up holiday, but I love that made up holiday. Neal and I didn't do much, but what we did do was sweet and quaint. It's now March, and 7 more weeks till Neal and I meet our nephew Cayden, and I'm counting down the days. Literally....I have a calendar that is counting down his arrival. I love him so much and he's not even here yet. This weekend is my sisters baby shower, and we both cant wait to see what kinda goodies she'll bring home with her!

I promise you all that I'll keep up with my day to day, play by play this time around.
